Muji Portable Aluminium Foldable Hanger

Background

In November 2024, while I was online looking at stuff, I saw something that interested me: the Muji Portable Aluminium Foldable Hanger. 

As I had previously seen this at various Muji stores, I decided to purchase a few of them and try them out.

The Stuff

The Muji Portable Aluminium Foldable Hanger is a lightweight and compact travel accessory designed for convenience. Crafted from aluminium alloy with stainless steel fasteners, it offers durability and resistance to rust. Its foldable design suits travellers or those with limited storage space.

The dimensions of this hanger are as follows:

When Opened: Approximately 38 cm (15 inches) in width.

When Folded: Approximately 25 cm (width) × 6.2 cm (height) × 0.8 cm (depth).

Usage and Experience

Since this post, I have had the Muji Portable Aluminium Foldable Hanger for months. I use it at home, and these hangers are well-built and can hold heavy jackets without any issue.

They are lightweight, weighing in at around 40g each, and their slim profile is great for bringing around during travels as it does not consume much space in my backpack or luggage.

Although it does not have any anti-slip feature and the hook is not rotatable, it has a notch on each side of the hanger.

I brought a few of these hangers while travelling overseas, and I was asked by the security what these were while my backpack was being scanned. They looked like candy canes while folded :) It is not really an issue since they are not sharp objects, but do be prepared to open up and answer questions.

Final Thoughts
