Background

Back in November 2022, as I was using The Foldable 5-in-1 Sit-stand Laptop Desk MOFT-Z with my laptop, I felt having an external keyboard would enhance my computer setup and usage experience.

Since I'm using Microsoft Surface Laptop Studio with Microsoft Surface Mobile Mouse KGY-00005, I decided to get the Microsoft Surface Bluetooth Keyboard WS2-00014 1742 to "complete" my Microsoft setup.

The Stuff

The Microsoft Surface Bluetooth Keyboard WS2-00014 1742 is a clean, simple design, full-size chiclet/island-style keyboard. It only comes in silver/grey color. It uses 2 AAA batteries which are provided in the packaging.

Here are some pictures that I have taken to show what the stuff looks like:

Usage and Experience

I have been using the Microsoft Surface Bluetooth Keyboard WS2-00014 1742 for almost a month since this post. I like that the battery compartment cover is magnetic instead of the latch kind so that the cover will always be able to cover it back.

As this keyboard uses batteries instead of an inbuilt battery with USB charging, I believe that the usage duration for the next battery replacement will be longer compared to the USB charging type.

One drawback may be the angle of elevation on this keyboard is fixed. I will have to put something if I want to elevate it. But so far I have had no problems with this.

I do like the feeling when I am typing on this keyboard and that the keyboard is well-built with its sleek, simple, and modern design.

Final Thoughts

Overall, I feel that the Microsoft Surface Bluetooth Keyboard WS2-00014 1742 is a pricey but solid piece of a keyboard. If you are interested in this stuff, you can click on the link below:
