Background

Back in July 2021, I needed a few stuff for my upcoming new home renovation. One such stuff was a bicycle number lock. This is needed because during renovation, there will be a few contractors who will be coming in and out of the house. As such, it is easier to have a number lock to lock the gates during the renovation period, rather than giving them the house key which will have to be passed around.

As I am worried that there is not enough time for the delivery if I purchase it online, I decided to go around shops to hunt for one. I came across many versions and after a few days of hunting, I decided to get one that I feel is the most secured: long, thick and requires 5-digit to unlock it.

The Stuff

The Long Thick Cable 5-Digit Bicycle Number Lock is about 1.2 meters long, and the thickness is of the cable is about 2 centimeters in diameter. The 5-digit number can be set to any number of choice.

Here are some pictures that I have taken to show how the stuff looks like:

Usage and Experience

I have used the Long Thick Cable 5-Digit Bicycle Number Lock for my home gate so that contractors can come in and do their work without using keys to lock it. There is no issue encountered and no one tried to break into my home by cracking the number or breaking the cable.

Setting up the number lock is very simple. On the keyhole, turn the set knob clockwise to set the desired number. Once that is done, turn the knob anticlockwise and the number is set.
