Background

Back in July 2020, while I was surfing the web, I came across the Xiaomi 10000mAh Mi Wireless Power Bank Essential. As my current power bank, the first-generation Xiaomi 10400mAh Mi Power Bank does not have wireless charging, it got me interested in getting one. But I held back since my current power bank is still working fine, other than losing its charge faster since it's already more than 5 years old.

Eventually, in the middle of December 2020, I decided to purchase the Xiaomi 10000mAh Mi Wireless Power Bank Essential by going to one of the Xiaomi stores in Singapore.

The Product

The Xiaomi 10000mAh Mi Wireless Power Bank Essential comes in 2 colors, black or white. Mine comes in black. It is rectangular in shape, just like the shape of a smartphone but thicker. In the box comes the power bank itself, a USB-A to USB-C cable, and a manual.

Here are some pictures that I've taken to show how it looks like:

Usage and Experience

I have been using the Xiaomi 10000mAh Mi Wireless Power Bank Essential for quite some time now, and I can say that I am happy with my purchase. It has effectively replaced my first-generation Xiaomi 10400mAh Mi Power Bank. The wireless charging is the plus point for me as I do not need to connect any cables if I need to charge my phone. I have not used the cable method to charge my phone so far.

To use wireless charging on the power bank, I simply press the button once and start placing my wireless charging capable phone onto the wireless charging portion of the power bank.

To charge the power bank, simply find a USB plug and insert the cable into the USB C port of the power bank.

Final Thoughts

Overall, I feel that the Xiaomi 10000mAh Mi Wireless Power Bank Essential is a good replacement for my existing power bank, as I do not need to connect a cable to charge my phone now (unless you want to charge faster).
