Background
Back in December 2017, I was looking for a small and portable electric shaver that I can bring along during my travels. As such I search online and stumbled across the Xiaomi Mijia portable electric shaver. Looking at the shape and design of the shaver, I was interested in it and decided to purchase it from Passion Gadgets at Qoo10.
The Product
The Xiaomi Mijia portable electric shaver has a minimalistic dark grey metal design. Its model name is MJTXD01XM and feels well build. It charges by using a USB-C cable. In the box comes with the shaver itself, a USB-C cable to charge the shaver, and a brush to clean the shaver. The shaver is not waterproof, hence you can't wash the shaver with water.

Usage and Experience
I have been using the Xiaomi Mijia portable electric shaver ever since the I got it till now, even bringing along with me when I travel. To power on the shaver, remove the top cover and press the button at the side of the shaver. I would say the shaver is ideal for people who shave every day or once every 2 days. This is because when I first use it, my beard and mustache had grown to a length that the shaver had difficulty shaving it. Hence it took me a while to completely shave it. It also took me a few times to understand how to get a good shave using this shaver. I still do miss some hair now and then when I shave using this shaver.
For the battery life, I recharge the shaver once in about every 1.5 to 2 months. This is based on me shaving once every 1 or 2 days, and about 3 mins or less each time I use it. When the battery is low, the light at the bottom of the shaver will blink in red color. This indicates that you will need to charge the shaver before the battery is flat. While charging, the light will blink in green color. When it's fully charged, the light will show green without blinking. Based on my experience, the charging takes less than 1.5 hours to fully charge the shaver.
Since you can't wash the shaver with water, to clean the shaver, the way is to open up the shaver cap and use the brush provided.

Conclusion
Based on my usage and experience, the Xiaomi Mijia portable electric shaver is suitable for those who shave every day or once every 2 days, and do a complete shave each time. Overall I feel that it will be better to find another shaver, especially if you have a long beard and mustache (about 0.5cm), and you want to wash the shaver with water.
