Background

In November 2023, I decided to look for packing cubes as the ones that I had been using for my travels started to have wear and tear. As such, I decided to search online for new packing cubes.

As there are many brands and kinds of packing cubes around, it took me a while to find the one that I feel is good and fits the bill for me: the Thule Compression Packing Cube. As such, I decided to get a few of these in one go.

The Stuff

The Thule Compression Packing Cube comes in a white semi-transparent surface all around. There are 2 zips: one for opening and one for expansion/compression.

According to Thule's website, the features are as such:
  • Durable compression zipper eliminates excess air between clothes to maximize packing space
  • Semitransparent fabric to see what is inside while still keeping belongings discreet
  • Compatible with all sizes and brands of luggage (most carry-on luggage fits 2 medium cubes or 1 medium cube with 2 small cubes)
  • Ideal for pants, shirts and sweaters (we recommend rolling your items to save space and minimize wrinkling)
  • Durable, bluesign ® approved 100D ripstop nylon material that minimizes impact on the environment, is water-repellent and will withstand years of use
  • Webbing handle allows you to easily grab and hang the cube while traveling
  • Made with premium YKK zippers for added durability
The technical specifications are as follows:
  • Compressed dimensions LxWxH: 34 x 23 x 3 cm
  • Expanded dimensions LxWxH: 36 x 25 x 15 cm
  • Weight: 0.13 kg
  • Color: White
  • Material: Nylon
Here are some pictures that I have taken to show what the stuff looks like:

Usage and Experience

I have had the Thule Compression Packing Cube for a few weeks since this post. Although I have not really used it yet (waiting to travel again), I have tried putting my clothes in it and compressing it.

With the compression feature, I feel that it is definitely better than what I have. Unfortunately, it does not have a larger version as longer trips or thicker clothing, especially for the winter season will require more than one of these cubes.

In terms of pricing, this is not cheap. There are other brands of compression packing cubes out there that are cheaper.

Final Thoughts

Overall, I feel that the Thule Compression Packing Cube is a nice and stylish compression packing cube, provided one is willing to pay more for it. If you are interested in this stuff, you can click on the link below:
