Background

In May 2023 if I am not mistaken, I found out from Shargeek (Now known as SHARGE) that they were coming out with an Internet Hostkey Power Bank based on the movie "The Wandering Earth 2" in Indiegogo. I have not watched this movie, but the design looks very sci-fi, which interest me. As such, I decided to indicate my interest by putting my email on SHARGE's mailing list.

On 20 July 2023, the SHARGE Internet Hostkey Power Bank SP130A was finally out on Indiegogo. I decided to get it and it was delivered to me in September 2023.

The Stuff

The SHARGE Internet Hostkey Power Bank SP130A is a long rectangular design power bank with the following features based on Indiegogo's website:

  • Built-in USB-C Cable
  • Realtime Charging Power Display
  • Remaining CHarging Time Prediction
  • In the movie "The Wandering Earth II", the Internet Hostkey stores 30,000 random server startup passwords, which are the keys to saving the Earth. SHARGE made it into a screen startup animation to truly restore the movie settings.

Usage and Experience

I have been using the SHARGE Internet Hostkey Power Bank SP130A for more than a week since this post. Most of the time I use the built-in USB-C cable to charge my phone.

In terms of size, I feel that it is a bulky power bank. As such, I think it is unlikely for me to bring it out and use it at home.

For charging laptops, it is best to use the USB-C1 (USB-C port) as it has the most output power. The USB-C2 (built-in USB-C cable) is still possible depending on the laptop, and my Surface Laptop Studio will show slow charging when using it.

It is definitely able to charge 3 devices, but it will drain the power bank fast. Charging the power bank to 100% is fast with the USB-C1 using a powerful adaptor and cable.
