Background

In the year 2011, if I recall correctly, I bought the Muji Handy Shredder and spoilt it after intense usage. More than a decade later, in early September 2023, I decided to purchase another one again.

The Stuff

The Muji Handy Shredder comes in a rectangular design with a turning knob at the side to shred. Based on the packaging, the dimensions are as follows: Approx. W182 x D50 x H30mm.

On the stuff itself, it indicates the maximum number of sheets that can be shredded: 2 sheets for A6 paper, and 1 sheet for A4 paper (required to fold vertically in half). For postcards (Approx. 0.2mm): 1pc.

Here are some pictures that I have taken to show what the stuff looks like:

Usage and Experience

I have been using the Muji Handy Shredder for more than a week since this post. I like that it is a minimalist and space-saving design but with that said, it comes with limitations.

As the slot is A6 size, it is indeed that I have to fold an A4 size paper into half from the long edge in order to shred it. Constantly shredding more than the recommendation can spoil the shredder, as what happened to the first one that I bought in 2011.

With that, this handy shredder is not meant for heavy usage.

Final Thoughts

Overall, I feel that the Muji Handy Shredder is useful stuff at home for shredding documents on light usage. If you are interested in this stuff, you can visit any Muji store to look for one while stocks last.
