Background

Back in around 2013 if I am not mistaken, I was looking around for a laminating machine as I started to have the need to laminate pictures and documents.

Instead of looking around online, I went over to Popular bookstore as they do sell office equipment such as a laminating machine. There were a few models available, for A3, A4, or for both. As I only needed to laminate in A4 sizes, the cheapest model that was available at that time was the GBC Pouch Laminator CLA402.

As the price is affordable and it comes together with a pack of laminating pouches, I decided to purchase it.

The Stuff

The GBC Pouch Laminator CLA402 comes in white color and in a rectangular-shaped semi-circle top design. It comes with an on/off power switch and another switch to switch between cold/100/125 microns depending on the laminating pouch.

Here are some pictures that I have taken to show how the stuff looks like:

Usage and Experience

I have been using the GBC Pouch Laminator CLA402 for years. It is easy to use as all I need to do was to power on, switch the settings based on the correct microns to use for the laminating pouch, and wait for it to get heated up and be ready. Once ready, slide the laminating pouch in and let it roll while laminating.

I have yet to encounter any laminating jams, hence the release button was not called into action.

Considerations to note is that it is best to have a big clear space at the back of the laminating machine and to have the power points on the right side of the laminating machine, so as not to have any obstruction when the laminating pouch comes out.

Final Thoughts

Overall, I feel that the GBC Pouch Laminator CLA402 is an affordable solution for laminating A4 documents. There are newer models out in the market currently and it is still affordable. If you are interested to find out more, you can click on the links below:
